Abdou Maman

Abdou Maman is a social entrepreneur and computer scientist by training, specializing in Information and Communication Technology, or ICT. He is currently the Founding Director of the social enterprise Tech-Innov. Abdou has carried out several works in the field of smart agriculture including automated irrigation water management. In this capacity, he carried out and developed a package of social innovations in the area of water and environmental management to enable people living in rural areas access to technology, adapt to change and effectively fight poverty. They are: “Tele-Irrigation”, the Intelligent Bio Fertilizer, The Drinking Water Kiosk in rural environment, Automatic Watering and Mobile Weather. Abdou holds an invention patent n ° 16025 BOPI 07/13 issued by the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) and is the author of a scientific publication in the Water and Energy Review. Abdou has been honoured several times on the international scene with 1st Prize of the Social Entrepreneur in Africa 2011; Top 10 Innovation Prize for Africa 2014 and as Winner of African 100 Innovations for Sustainable Development Forum in Paris in 2013; Medal of International Exhibition and Inventions at Geneva Switzerland, in 2012; Nice France Ecological Creation Medal in 2013; World Grand Prix Hassan II for Water South Korea in 2015; Young Entrepreneur Award in Libreville, Gabon in 2015, and Climate Startup COP22. He is currently working on an innovative concept of “Ecological Digital Farm” for a return to agriculture by young Africans.
