James Abasifreke is the “juggler” at POKET. That means he co-leads the product and software development efforts for the POKET team, and also heavily supports the business development and operations efforts for the team. He graduated with Special Honors in Software Engineering from York University Canada. He then worked for the Canadian Government, helping them manage the QA processes for over 100+ concurrent projects. With his wide breadth of expertise, James later worked in Canada as a Software Consultant for large multi-national telecom, aviation, health, and automobile companies. In late 2018 through 2019, James delved deeper into blockchain development, developing innovative solutions for banks and fintech companies, and even government security agencies. James keeps actively participating in Hackathons to learn and mentor younger developers. Winning is just a bonus he has never been opposed to. James is Nigerian by background and is very passionate about solving socio-economic issues that he got intimately familiar with while living in Nigeria for 16 years. Hence his passion to work on the problems his startup, POKET, is solving. Lastly, James recently received the Top 30 Under 30 Developer Award in 2018 for Canada.
