Kathleen is an AI Researcher who is Regional Coordinator of the Artificial Intelligence for Development – Africa Network. She is keen to connect African AI researchers, policy makers and practitioners, and to strengthen their work through creating platforms for collaboration and access to resources. 

She has worked with AI communities on the African continent for over 4 years, including with the Nairobi Women in Machine Learning and Data Science community as well as with the Deep Learning Indaba. In her own research, Kathleen invests time and effort in ventures that involve natural language and speech processing for African languages as well as low-cost hardware robotics.

She is currently a Masters student at the Georgia Institute of Technology undertaking the Online Masters in Computer Science with a specialization in Computational Perception and Robotics.
