Mouna Fahr is a Professor of Plant Biotechnology and Physiology at Mohammed V University, Faculty of Sciences in Rabat, Morocco. She is leading research and education activities in Plant Biotechnology. She was laureate of the L’OREAL-UNESCO scholarship for women and science Maghreb 2015. Her research interests include physiological and molecular aspects of plants tolerance and adaptation to heavy metals and developing phytoremediation process. She co- authored 10-refereed publications in the areas of plant physiology, molecular biology, plant stress and Environment. She is the Principal Investigator/coordinator of the JEAI « Jeune Equipe Associée à l’IRD » PhytoMet (From 2018 to 2020). This project aims at valorizing mining floras to rehabilitate contaminated soils in Morocco. She is setting up several international networks interested in the rehabilitation of contaminated areas (AMEDEE, GDRI – LOCOMET, Mines- Med – SICMED).
